Fargo is the largest city in the state in the Red River Valley region of North Dakota. The two are one of the fastest expanding metropolitan areas in the upper Midwest alongside Fargo's adjacent Moorhead, Minnesota. Visitors to Fargo, as well as cultural and leisure opportunities, will appreciate many tourist attractions.


Plains Art Museum


There are a permanent collection and temporary exhibits in the Plains Art Gallery. Works by Andy Warhol, David Bradley, Edward S. Curtis, and George Morrison are part of the permanent collection. Works by local artists have also been featured to give tourists the chance to see some of North Dakota's creativity. Red River Zoo


On 33 acres of gorgeous rolling hills, numerous swamps, and exquisite landscaping plant displays are the red river's zoo. Zoo. In the center of the urban landscape, the park has over 500 trees and bays that create a wild oasis.

300 animals of 75 species, all live-in enclosures near their natural environments, are housed in the Red River Zoo. The zoo consists of many species at risk and various native and imported animals from regions across the world with an ecosystem close to that of the Red River Valley.


Fargo Theatre


This Art Deco theatre was designed as a movie and Vaudeville theatre of the 1920s and showed independent films abroad. This historic room is now a location for entertainment and other plays. The renovated structure is also on the National Historic Squares Register.

Since 2001 the Theatre, which currently involves five days of films and group fun, has been hosting the Fargo Film Festival in March. The tribute bands, magicians, and comedian shows are other frequently scheduled events. You can book the Theatre for social occasions for big gatherings and private parties.


Hjemkomst Center


Historical and cultural Communities in Clay County can be found in the Hjemkomst Center. The Stave Church's replica in Hopperstad and the Hjemkomst Viking Ship are the most famous attractions and real landmarks of the Norwegian heritage.

The historical society holds many permanent and rotating exhibitions concerning the county. Hjemkomst Center, like German Kulturfest and the Scandinavian Hjemkomst & Midwest Viking Festival, also hosts numerous special activities during the year.
